Should You Consider a Move This Year?

The market is in great shape right now, despite continued changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Answering these questions should help you decide if its the right time for you to jump into the market!

1. Are you financially secure?

If you have steady income and you're able to secure a down payment, now is a good time to enter the market, since low interest rates will make your monthly mortgage payment more affordable. Whether you're a current homeowner, renter, or experiencing another living situation, you should never jump into a financial decision you aren't prepared for. I am always happy to provide you with resources for improving your credit score, accessing safe financing options, and successfully navigating your financial situation. If you're nervous about securing a down payment, keep saving and revisit your search later this year!

2. Does your job allow for extended remote work?

The global pandemic has suggested long-term changes to how we work, live, and interact. While these adjustments may not all be positive, increased remote working possibilities for a variety of occupations almost certainly are! Employees with a flexible work-from-home policy don't necessarily need to live in the same place they work. This can lead to housing opportunities in neighborhoods you hadn't previously considered.

3. How often do you find yourself needing more space?

Most families could benefit from an extra room or two, especially after a year of stay-at-home orders and remote working/learning (see question above)! Consider upgrading this year while market conditions are solid. If you'd rather renovate your current home, I have extensive knowledge of local and national home-improvement professionals. Please feel free to contact me for a referral to a trusted contractor!

4. Are you happy with your current location?

Whether you're moving to or from Idaho (or reading from somewhere completely different), this is the perfect time to find a great deal in your dream location. Even if you want to stay in your current neighborhood or city, the current market still offers great opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Upgrading can mean taking a small, temporary step or finally settling down in your forever home.
