Canyon County, Idaho and Recreation
Within Canyon County there is plenty to do if you're an outdoors person. From fishing and swimming to hiking and camping the beloved 2C offers so much! (If you're on Facebook you should check out Iheart2C and see why we're such a great place!)
If birding is your thing then 2C (Canyon County) is for you! Several parks offer bird watching opportunities!
Lower Dam Recreation Area: Located on Riverside Drive at the Lower Dam on the Caldwell side, the Lower Damn Rec Area is the prime location for bird watching! Bird watching is something you can enjoy here due to the presence of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife’s Deer Flat National Refuge. As part of the wildlife refuge, recreation on Lake Lowell’s shoreline and waters may be subject to seasonal restrictions, and closures.
Other options include Map Rock, Ward Memorial Park, Wilson Springs, Martin Landing, Jubilee Park and Celebration Park.

Maybe you're more of a water sports lover. Take your boat out and enjoy the day at Celebration Park, Martin Landing or Lower Dam Recreation Area! Be sure to jump in and swim while you're there!
Celebration Park
Enjoy hunting, or hiking? You're in the right place in the 2C! With many off the beaten paths you can take for both you can easily enjoy yourself doing your favorite activities. For a more, say, beaten path, then Martin Landing or Jubilee Park are for you!

The county also lists the many recreational options you have at Jubilee:The 350 acres of trails accommodate OHV, horseback riders, mountain bikers, hikers, and even hang gliders.

However, at the end of the day, maybe just a good ol' fashioned picnic to enjoy the picturesque Canyon County is what you're looking for. Then do we have options for you! Celebration Park, Lower Dam Recreation Area, Jubilee Park, Martin Landing, Ward Memorial Park and Wilson Springs all have designated spots for a nice picnic.
Wilson Springs is a 55 acre nature area that is home to many birds, both resident and migratory. It is also a popular urban fishing destination. Located on Powerline Rd across from the Nampa Fish Hatchery at 3101 Powerline Road in Nampa.
A complete list of all of the Canyon County maintained parks is available on the County website and includes: Celebration Park, Crossroads Museum, Lake Lowell Park, Lower Dam Recreation Area, Jubilee Park, Map Rock, Martin Landing, Ward Memorial Park and Wilson Springs. All of the recreational areas in Canyon County offer many different things for 2C residents and visitors.
